How to Sell
Cars
-
Take amazing pictures
This is a marketplace for gearheads. To us, cars are art. Taking excellent pictures of your car helps to show potential buyers that you love cars too, which means there's a chance you took good care of the car. It also helps to entice buyers to want to buy the car. So take the best pictures you can and since buyers will see the car for the first time on the internet try to take pictures of everything that might be marked, scuffed, etc. so they're not surprised or disappointed when they show up - we all know cars take abuse on the road and some wear and tear is inevitable but it's much easier to know ahead of time than it is to find out once you show up.
-
List the modifications you've done (Optional)
Because we're all gearheads we also want to know what's non-stock. Let's face it, some stock setups just suck. Tell everyone what you've done to improve the car and why. If your car is completely stock, that's good too.
-
Set your price
This is pretty self explanatory. Pick a price that you believe is fair.
-
Finish your listing and sell your car
That's it, you're good to go! There's no fee for listing a car on Styckyd so just complete your listings and start talking with potential buyers. If you need any help, feel free to get in touch with us and we'll see what we can do.
Parts
-
Before you get started: Take good pictures!
Good pictures are essential for selling parts on the internet. The more you have the better it is for everyone. There is no limit to how many pictures you can upload to your listing so try to take as many as you can from all angles.
-
Add the part details
Start your listing by clicking the sell button at the top of the page. You can now upload all of the pictures you've taken and describe the parts you're selling. For each part you'll need to add the brand (Honda/Mugen/Mopar, etc.) and the part name (Steering wheel/Sway Bar/Intake, etc.). If the part is not in the database you'll also need to pick the category it should fit into, this helps buyers find your listing easier.
Adding the vehicles which the part will fit on is an important step. Styckyd uses advanced vehicle and part association technology to help buyers find parts that will fit their cars. Adding all of the vehicles that you part will fit will ensure that buyer's will be able to find your listing.
-
To ship or not to ship? That is the question.
Shipping on Styckyd is done a little differently than on other marketplaces. We automatically calculate the price to ship to the buyer for you and collect the shipping fees from them on your behalf. If you choose to allow shipping to properly calculate the shipping cost we'll ask for the address that you're going to ship form and the size of the package (including weight).
Choosing to ship your package opens your listing up to more potential buyers. Fees are charged on listings that include shipping.
Local listings allow anyone within a 60 mile radius from your location to buy your listing. Local listings are free.
-
Set your price and finish your listing
Setting the price for your listing can be a tricky process. Have a look around at other similar listings to get an idea what your parts might be worth and then set your price. You won't need to pad your price for shipping at all because we'll take care of that for you. If you're willing to negotiate on the price then select "Accepting Offers", this will allow buyers to send you offers on your parts.
-
Negotiate with buyers (Optional)
If you have indicated that you are willing to accept offers on your listing then you may receive messages from buyers interested in paying a little less than what you're asking. There's no limit to what they can offer but they'll only have three chances to get it right. If they try and low-ball you three times but really want what you're selling they'll have to buy the part for your full asking price. It is always first come first serve, though. The first person to give you your full asking price wins.
-
Collect your cash and deliver the goods
When a buyer purchasing the parts you have listed the money will be deposited into your PayPal account (defaults to the e-mail address you used to sign up with Styckyd).
We'll send you an e-mail to notify you that the funds have arrived and to give you the address to ship to. Please pack and ship the parts ASAP.
Happy selling!
